This week, students will plan the basic concept for a multi-week project: a touch or avoid game.
By the end of class, students need to have:
1. Found planning worksheet here (in Google Drive, shared with students) - Touch or Avoid Game Plan
2. Renamed the worksheet - "Touch or Avoid Game Plan by XXXXX" where XXXXX is the student's name.
3. Shared the worksheet with me ([email protected]).
4. Alternatively, students are welcome to use a paper hard copy and hand it in and the end of class.
5. Complete all the questions on the worksheet with the specified amount of detail.
Once the plan is complete, students may start to writing their game in Scratch. Things to remember:
- Get the basics of the game working first
- Make the fancy artwork second
- Add fancy features (extra levels, timers, scoring etc.) next
Here is an example of a Touch or Avoid game I created. It demonstrates a possible concept, but does not (yet, as of March 2, 2014) have enough complexity and original artwork to receive a high grade.

Next week, as a class, we will be creating the grading rubrics for the project.
